Soquel–San Jose Road Fuels Reduction Project: Upcoming Town Halls
A major roadside wildfire-safety project is coming to Soquel–San Jose Road, and local landowners are invited to learn more at three upcoming town halls.
The Fire Safe Council of Santa Cruz County, in partnership with public agencies, will be clearing hazardous roadside vegetation to improve wildfire resilience and help maintain Soquel–San Jose Road as a safer evacuation and emergency-response route. The project is fully grant-funded, with no cost to participating property owners.
Property Owners: Your Participation Matters
Some of the planned vegetation work extends onto private property, and the Fire Safe Council needs permission from affected property owners before crews can do that work.
The town halls are a chance to find out whether your property is included, see what work is proposed, ask questions, meet the project managers and foresters, and learn about the right-of-entry process.

This is the most local meeting for residents in the OSJ Road Firewise area.
